Artist Statement

January 2019

I paint and make art with and about people.

I have worked for many years in community settings. This informs how I work with people as a painter, art facilitator and collaborator.

I research, inviting people to participate in the process, developing shared perspectives. This creates rich, meaningful and resonant art.

I love painting, drawing and making. I believe in creating high quality work that will last a long time.

My work includes things that cannot be seen: thoughts, feelings, ideas and dreams. Layered aggregations of memory made physical, thoughts made material.

I make the invisible visible, revealing truth with paint, charcoal, sculpture and writing.
